Top dog breeds in terms of intelligence 

Apparently, there are breeds that are noticeably smarter than others.  

There is no universally accepted method for determining a dog's IQ; hence, 

a very bright specimen from one breed could be an outlier,

or you could be dealing with an exceptionally foppish specimen from a breed known for its high IQ. 

Because of this, we have compiled a list of the canine breeds known to be the most intelligent. 

Even though these canines won't be graduating anytime soon,  

their intelligence is often the result of years of selective breeding for a specific task.
