There are still two rare dime and a rare bicentennial quarter valued at $15 million each in circulation.

What adds to its allure is the mystery surrounding its production. Why were so few minted, and why specifically in San Francisco?

The story goes that in 1894, the San Francisco Mint was undergoing a transition from the Barber design to the newer Liberty Head design.

This transition led to a minimal production run for the Barber Dime that year. However, no official records exist to confirm this theory, adding an air of mystique to these already rare coins.

The second dime in this illustrious duo is the 1804 Draped Bust Dime. Unlike its 1894 counterpart, the 1804 Dime wasn't minted in 1804 but rather in the 1830s.

This particular dime was crafted as a special presentation piece to be included in sets of American coins intended for diplomatic gifts.

Only eight of these coins are known to exist, each with its own unique story and provenance.

Due to their scarcity and historical significance, they have become highly coveted by collectors worldwide, with prices reaching astronomical figures at auction houses.
