Irving Street's newest restaurant has a multicolored, out-of-this-world plastic egg the size of a fifth grader in the center.
It resembles a Fallout 3 attraction, but it's modern and functional. It will be the centerpiece of the newest Korean street food and pastry spot, opening May 1.
Cyrus Shen, the 15-year owner of Sunset's Poke Origin, Daly City's Shaking Crab, and Valencia Street's Sugoi Sushi, created Toast'N Egg.
The drinks menu includes coffee, tea, the mystery, bubble-topped Paradise drink, and croissant waffles (croffles), four of which are Oreo and matcha-flavored.
Newer Gao Viet Kitchen and Lomo Libre flank Kevin's Noodle House, Pineapple King, and Hole in the Wall Pizza on a block known for low-key local spots.
