Kitchen Uses of Whiskey

Whiskey is America's most popular liquor for good reason. It adds depth and complexity to cocktails and is a great cooking component.   

Whisky adds a particular flavor profile and functions as a natural solvent, extracting and amplifying the flavors of tomatoes and peppercorns, improving the dish.

Adding whisky to blistered tomatoes makes them wonderful. As whiskey deglazes the pan, cherry tomato sweetness and whiskey flavors blend to create a wine-like flavor.  

Alcohol releases various flavors from tomatoes, making them fruity and delicious. Serve alongside roasted fish, pasta, or grilled bread.  

Use a big frying pan on medium-high. After heating the olive oil to a shimmer, carefully add the tomatoes.  

Cook until tomatoes blister, 2–3 minutes. Salt the tomatoes, reduce the heat, and simmer for 4–5 minutes to soften.
