See how to make it:DIY blackberry syrup:Fresh blackberries are briefly cooked in a simple syrup and crushed with a potato masher to make a berry-flavored syrup.

Cooled fresh syrup is gently sweet so sugar doesn't overshadow fruit flavor. (You can double the juice for a blackberry-forward drink.

Classic margarita ingredients:Our blackberry margarita features blanco tequila and fresh lime juice, like all great ones. We add Cointreau, but not too much, to avoid sweetness.

To compliment the drink's flavors, we mix sugar, salt, and fresh lime zest on the glass rim instead of dipping it in salt.
