Bicentennial Quarter: Over $90 Million Worth of Items Are Still in Use

What's even more astonishing is that these valuable coins are still in circulation, quietly circulating through everyday transactions.

The story of the Bicentennial Quarter begins in the early 1970s when the United States was gearing up to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, the U.S. Mint embarked on a design overhaul for several denominations of coins, including the quarter.

Released into circulation in 1975 and 1976, these Bicentennial Quarters quickly captured the public's imagination.

With their patriotic imagery and historical significance, they became sought-after mementos of America's bicentennial celebration.

As numismatists delved deeper into the world of coin collecting, they discovered that certain Bicentennial Quarters exhibited unique characteristics that set them apart from the rest.
